Yes. Core features (tracking, monthly reports, notes, encrypted sync) are free forever. We may later add a Pro tier (team, multiple ledgers) โ but the single-user core stays free.
On signup we give you a 12-word recovery phrase. Write it down or save in 1Password / Bitwarden. With the phrase you can reset your password and decrypt your data again. This is the only path back โ the server has no key.
Locally on your device (IndexedDB or SQLite, depending on platform), encrypted. Cloud copy on a Tokyo VPS (XServer) over HTTPS / Let's Encrypt. Server only sees ciphertext; keys never leave you.
Yes. Sign in on any device with your email + password โ data syncs automatically. Each device only sees plaintext after decrypt. Sign-out clears the local cache (or use the 30-day Remember-Me toggle).
iKasa uses native local notifications โ no remote push server, works fully offline. Set a date on any record or note and iOS will ring it at the scheduled time.
